Spaghetti squash originated in China, around 1850, then introduced to Japan and commercially developed before arriving in North America via W. Atlee Burpee and Co. in 1936.
Trailing vines produce 3 lb oval, yellow coloured fruits. Stringy flesh is lovely when mixed with sauce and baked back in the shell, or fork out and serve like spaghetti!
