A highly popular heirloom introduced in 1952 by Burgess Seed & Plant Co.
Vigorous plants produce an abundance of small to medium, turban-shaped (flattened globe) fruits with dark green skin and narrow greyish-white stripes. A distinctive “button” or “cup” is typically found on the blossom end. Fruits weigh 3–5 lbs.
Prized for its exceptionally sweet, fine-grained, and fibreless orange flesh.
Its dry texture makes it a “good baker” that won’t become watery.
