Early maturing turnip variety, grown mainly for its tender and juicy root. The root reaches 6″ in diameter and has a white lower part and a purple top, giving it an attractive appearance. The white flesh is crisp and fine-grained.
Not for winter storage (but frost-hardy).
Use thinnings and young leaves in spring salads or steam them for a delicious side dish.
