Tomato – Japanese Black Trifele

$3.95

3441 Solanum lycopersicum

Indeterminate. 80 days.
Likely from Russia or Estonia. (not Japan!) The name “Trifele” comes from a translation of the Russian/Latvian word for “truffle,” referencing its shape, but got stuck with “Japanese” in translation. Its Russian name is Yaponskiy Trufel Chernyi (Japanese Black Truffle).
The unique pear shaped, mahogany-coloured fruit is medium-sized (3-4″) and juicy with a sweet, rich, almost smoky flavour.
Prolific and very crack-resistant.

~60 seeds/packet
