A cherished 1870s heirloom, likely originating in Wisconsin Amish communities but preserved and popularized through Lancaster, PA’s Amish families.
Not too juicy, not too seedy — good for lazy sauce-makers, who can’t be bothered to take out the seeds!
Fruits are large, deep red, oval-shaped, and range in size from 4″ to 6″ in diameter.
Rich, sweet and well-balanced flavour.
Great for slicing, sauces, pastes and canning.
