5025 Xerochrysum bracteatum

Annual. 75 days.
Australian native, introduced to Europe in the late 1700s.
Strawflowers, also known as paper daisies, are grown for their unique papery flowers that come in shades of pink, yellow, white and red.
Sturdy, 3-4′ tall plants thrive in heat and tolerate drought.
Strawflowers have a long bloom cycle from mid-summer to fall. Flowers can be used for fresh cut bouquets or dried for everlasting flower arrangements. Harvest before the centers open, remove foliage and hang them upside down until they are completely dry.
