Developed in the US in 1916 from mild Spanish onions and hardy Dutch types, combining the best characteristics of both types, resulting in a sweet flavoured onion that stores well.
Large, 3-6″ globe-shaped bulbs with golden-yellow to straw-brown skin and crisp, white flesh.
Mild and sweet flavour, making it great for sandwiches and salads; excellent for caramelizing.
