Heirloom from Naples, it was first offered by the Italian seed company, Franchi Sementi.
In Italy, Napoletano basil is referred to as ‘bolloso’, for the blistered appearance of its large leaves. Also called “lettuce leaf basil”.
Short, bushy 14-16″ plants produce an abundance of crinkled leaves that reach up to 5-6″ long.
Highly prized for its outstanding flavour. Used in pesto and other Italian dishes.
Pest-resistant and slow to bolt.
