Tatsoi is believed to have originated in China and was a common part of the diet by the 5th century.
Dark green, spoon-shaped round leaves that grow rapidly for several harvests.
Tatsoi has a mild, sweet, slightly nutty flavour, reminiscent of a milder mustard green, with earthy, spinach-like notes.
Stirfry, steam gently or eat as a salad green.
