Flowers – Zinnia – State Fair

$3.95

5030 Zinnia elegans

Annual. 70 days.
Zinnias were named after Johann Gottfried Zinn, a German botany professor of the mid-1700s; they were known as “Youth and Old Age” in the 1800s. The ‘State Fair’ variety was developed in the late 20th century, to meet the demand for show-stopping flowers for local garden competitions and state fair exhibits.
Plants are tall and stocky, typically growing 3-4′ high, making them suitable as background plants in a garden border.
Brilliant, 5-6″ full double dahlia-like blooms come in a wide range of vibrant colors, including shades of red, pink, orange, yellow, purple, and white.
Easy to grow from seed and shows higher resistance to disease and powdery mildew than other zinnias.
Great for attracting bees and butterflies to the garden.
