Flowers – Lacy Phacelia

5056 Phacelia tanacetifolia

Annual. 60 days.
Also known as Blue Tansy or Bee’s Friend.
Native to the southwestern United States and Mexico, introduced to Europe in the 20th century.
This unusual, frilly flower is gaining a following among gardeners looking to attract pollinators and predatory insects to their rows of veggies; as well as beekeepers, as phacelia is known for its incredibly high nectar-production.
Curled purple flowers on 3′ tall plants make a lovely cut flower.
