A famous heirloom variety, developed from Canadian selections of “Early Blood Turnip” and introduced by D. M. Ferry & Co. in 1892, named for its popularization in Detroit, Michigan.
Uniform, round, red roots are sweet and tender, and grow to 3″. Deep green tops are also delicious and can be cooked like spinach or chard.
